Animation
Description
A network indent animation for the Telemundo logo. The challenge was to make the animation feel new and refreshing.
Audio mixing made by the wonderful Kelly Warner
Time complexity- 3 weeks working alone

Ideation
The Telemundo logo presents two overlapping circles to emphasize the union between the Spanish and English speaking worlds.
For this reason, my exploration focused on parts becoming a whole new thing when they interact.
Both concepts pitched attempted at using a different style of animation and design than Telemundo’s previous network indents in order to create a new era of the network.
The first exploration focused on the abstract representation of the bridging of cultures.
Through the overlapping of the circle motif used by the current logo, a tunnel towards a new space is created.
The second exploration focuses on the abstraction of the viewers representing colorful, fun strings that, in the end, form the logo.
Initial explorations for concept 2
Initial explorations for concept 1
Client Notes
Client went with concept 1, however some tweaks needed to be done to the design to add more dimension to an otherwise flat and somewhat uninteresting style frame.
Chosen Direction
Developing The style frames further, I used both scale and gradients to add more dimension to the tunnel. I also developed an animatic for the entire animation.
First Pass
After translating the style frames into animation. This is the full first pass.
Client Notes
The design improved, however, there needs to be more dimension to the tunnel, as the flatness makes it feel like just overlapping shapes rather than a dive into a new space. The text and logo animation need to be more expressive
Refinement
Second Pass
After incorporating the client notes, the animation tunnel has more sophisticated depth as well as the type and logo animation being more expressive in their movement. The design changes were done by removing some of the blades and widening the 3D space in between each overlapping shape.
Client Notes
Design is approved, the balls path needs to be less jittery as the random movement is too distracting.
