Description

A deeply personal piece about the beauties of my country, Ecuador. This was my senior project created at Ringling College of Art and Design!

Time complexity- 2 months working alone

Experimentation

For the development of this project, I knew that creating a good positive atmosphere through my design and animation was a must. And so I started researching different fun but detailed styles that can convey the love and appreciation I have for my country.

After a few weeks of R&D, we decided to go with a majorly Illustrated fun style with some 3D backgrounds that would give the 2D cel animation depth.

Storyboarding

Continuing the pre-production, Finding the conclusive audience for the project was something me and my creative advisor, David Brodeur, struggled with. Are we trying to appeal to fellow Ecuadorians by reminding them about our country’s beauty, or are we trying to appeal to non Ecuadorians who might have heard negative news about the country by showing them the good side of Ecuador.

We decided to make the primary audience Ecuadorians themselves, but also adding some subtitles and non specific imagery so the message could be enjoyed by non Ecuadorians too.
